On March 17, the British government announced plans to invest 1 billion pounds (1.39 billion U.S. dollars) to reduce carbon emissions in industries, schools and hospitals as part of advancing the “green revolution.”
The British government plans to achieve net zero emissions by 2050 and increase employment at the same time to make up for the economic losses caused by the new crown pneumonia epidemic.
“The plan will help to substantially reduce the carbon emissions generated in the process of economic development, and help the United Kingdom to achieve net zero carbon dioxide emissions by 2050.” British Commerce and Energy Secretary Kwasi Kwarteng (Kwasi Kwarteng) Said in the announcement.
The announcement shows that these measures will increase up to 80,000 jobs in the next 30 years and help reduce industrial carbon dioxide emissions by two-thirds in the next 15 years.
It is reported that of the 1 billion pounds invested this time, about 932 million pounds will be used to build 429 projects in England to help promote the carbon emissions of public buildings such as schools, hospitals and parliament buildings.
