According to data from the National Bureau of Statistics of Colombia, in January, Colombian coal exports were 387.69 million tons, a drop of 72.32% from the two-year high set in the same period last year, and a decrease of 17.88% from the 4,721,200 tons in December last year.
In the same month, Colombia’s coal exports amounted to US$251 million, a year-on-year drop of 69.62% and a month-on-month drop of 11.37%. From this, it is estimated that the average coal export price for the month was US$64.77/ton, an increase of 9.77% and 7.93% respectively from the previous month.
Data shows that in 2020, Colombia’s coal exports totaled 71.19 million tons, a 4.69% drop from the 74.696 million tons in 2019.
In 2020, Colombia’s coal exports amounted to US$4.166 billion, a decrease of 26.51% from US$5.668 billion in 2019.
